We are now in our new building and preparing for the next phase of our development in providing 24 hour crisis services.

Responsible to Crisis Centre Manager
Salary £14,982 to £16,305 (15-19) Pro rata for part time.
Working Hours 36.25 hours per week working a range of shifts to provide cover to Crisis Centre 24/7. Additional allowances paid for nightshift.
Post Summary
To provide callers to the Crisis Centre Help line and visitors to the Centre with short term, emotional and practical support in developing a Crisis Plan.
Responsibilities
To provide emotional support, advice and information to people over eighteen, who use or have used mental health services in Edinburgh and their carers in a crisis.
To provide support via the telephone help line and face to face using clear non jargonised language.
To develop an empowering relationship with callers and visitors helping people identify and recognise their strengths and using a recovery approach.
To ensure confidentiality working within Edinburgh Crisis Centre protocols.
To provide information about relevant resources, to use information technology appropriately and to provide an educative role to callers and visitors in the use of Information technology and self help resources.
To work closely with all team members promoting effective team working and develop effective working relationships and partnerships with relevant agencies.
To contribute to the development of the Crisis Centre through taking an active part in user led training and regular evaluations of the services.
To maintain accurate data collection and documentation within the parameters of relevant Data Protection legislation.
Education, Qualifications
Essential: Good level of secondary education and ability to progress to complete SVQ 3.
Desirable: SVQ 3 or equivalent
