A resident engineer is required for an immediate start. As a resident engineer you will act as an on site representative for a major engineering consultancy, dealing with contractors and sub-contractors. You will also be expected to carry out clerk of works duties with regard to checking work.
As a resident engineer you will be working on site in the development of an existing electrical substation. Early aspects of the work will involve heavy earthworks and foundations. The project will progress with a more structuralbias, with a ten-storey steel structure being put in place.
You will be expected to have an awareness of structural design however will not be directly involved in the structural design process. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in confined spaces and have good health and safety awareness.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a highly respected and expanding consultancy, on a large project based in the city centre of Edinburgh earning a highly competitive hourly rate.
