    Project Engineer

    Manage technical interfaces between customer / vendors and Clients Dunfermline operation with a view to ensuring all project execution work in conducted on-schedule, within an agreed engineering budget and complies with the customer contract specifications.
    All project execution work shall be conducted in accordance with Dunfermline Operating Procedures and to the intent of Client Global Work Instructions.
    Gain the necessary skills and experience to progress within the organisation.

    Main Accountabilities: (State jobs most important activities and outputs)

    Review customer specification and associated clarifications.
    Revise bid scope of supply in-line with customer specification / clarifications.
    Define work scope detailing all engineering output requirements.
    Provide costs for engineering aspects of project variation orders
    Assist in the generation of a project engineering execution schedule and monitor / report progress accordingly.
    Prepare summary equipment specifications in line with customer requirements.
    Issue work instruction to product groups detailing:- equipment design requirements, output documentation, engineering hours budget and completion schedule.
    Manage all associated customer and vendor OEM technical interfaces.
    Serve as primary technical interface on assigned project for internal (Project management, Engineering, Q.A., Manufacturing, Assembly/Test, Service, Sales, etc...) and external customers.
    Manage other engineering staff as defined by engineering Group Leader.
    Perform systems engineering functions as defined in Dunfermline Operating procedures.
    Perform technical presentations to customers.
    Conduct system design reviews.
    Attend product design reviews as required to ensure customer / industry requirements are being satisfied.
    Approve ECNS, DBIs and detail drawings as defined by engineering Group Leader.
    Compile, maintain and control the issue of all customer related engineering documentation.
    Perform checking operations on other engineering personnel work as appropriate.
    Prepare quality matrices.
    Participate in Manufacturing Review Board meetings and assist in disposition and action of DPV's, Hold Orders and concession requests where necessary.
    Participate in investigation of field failures, and disposition FNCRs where necessary.
    Generate system procedures (SIT etc) and provide assistance during the test phase.
    Oversee compilation and approve release of rig manuals that define equipment installation and commissioning procedures.
    Carry out general engineering duties as identified by the relevant group leader or engineering manager.
    Set up, conduct and/or supervise Site Integration Testing.
    Field service as required for offshore installation.
    Maintenance of project files in an auditable condition.
    Develop more junior members of department through technical coaching and mentoring.
    Assist in pricing exercises for quotations
    Regular attendance at Project Team meetings
    Deputise for Product / Project Group Leader on occasions.

    Experience, Qualifications and Skills: (what are required for this role)
    The experience required for this role would be one of the following:
    8 years minimum graduate experience with client equipment or similar competitor equipment
    2/3 years minimum experience as a senior design engineer with client equipment or similar competitor equipment (or equivalent
    1 year minimum experience working as a quotations engineer with client equipment or similar competitor equipment
    Offshore equipment installation experience.
    Basic supervisory / man management experience.
    The academic qualifications required for this role would be one of the following:
    Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    Other qualifications may be accepted at the discretion of Engineering Management
    Preference for Chartered Engineer classification.
