    THE ROLE Business Manager

    Job Description
    Based in one of our high street branches, youll provide invaluable advice to prospective and established small business customers. But you wont be desk-bound - this is a role with a balanced mix of relationship and proactive business building.

    Requirements
    This is a key customer facing role which will utilise the role holders skills and experience in order to develop business performance in their particular area of responsibility including, where appropriate:

    Responsibility for a portfolio of customer relationships.
    Support the growth of market share.
    Drive income and balance sheet growth.
    Building business profile in the market through introducer relationships, networking externally, internally and cold calling.
    Exceed cross sales objectives and minimum service standards.
    Working closely with branch colleagues to maximise sales and service for business customers

    Key Objective of the role is the acquisition of quality new business and to act as a focal point for the Bank in the local business market.


    Responsibilities
    Financial
    Deliver Income growth from own portfolio including lending volume, margin and fee capture.
    Achieve acquisition targets to deliver growth in net business stock.
    Achieving Cross sales in key product areas.

    Internal Effectiveness
    Collaborate with Business partners to identify customer need and enhance cross-selling opportunities.
    Establishing effective working relationships with key internal colleagues including branch staff, support departments and credit.
    Ensure all minimum standards are achieved for operational and credit tests and implementation of fraud prevention measures to minimise operational and credit risk.
    Fully implement lending processes including limit renewals, lending and security documentation and new lending fulfilment.
    Provide absence cover as required for colleagues.

    People
    Take responsibility for and plan your own ongoing professional development including completion of relevant Business Academy training and development programmes.
    Maintain own knowledge of the Banks products and services to deliver excellent customer service

    Customer
    Actively enrol customers in electronic banking options including Online/ Digital Banking and Telephone Banking services
    Develop and implement a local marketing plan in conjunction with Development Business Managers where appropriate to include relevant networking activity, in order to achieve a high profile for the Bank in the start up and local business market.
    Deliver outstanding service through the skilled use of the Business Service Review process to identify and meet customer needs.
    Develop effective relationships with subsidiary company representatives, support departments and local branch staff to provide outstanding service to the customer.
    Undertake customer service calls and outbound sales calls.
    Undertake relevant prospecting activity as required.
    Implementation of a proactive customer contact strategy.


    The Individual
    Enhanced interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
    Enhanced sales / networking / credit skills.
    Knowledge of small business finances widened through experience and training or working towards relevant professional qualifications, in particular, the Diploma in Customer Relationship Management
    Enhanced Planning and Organising skills.
    Ability to perform under pressure.
