| Set up machine in accordance with competence / knowledge and manufacturers operating instructions in order to accomplish required job laid down in a Work Order received from Aberdeen, utilising the materials which accompany the Work Order. Programme machines when necessary. Visually check cutting tools and materials prior to commencing the work, replacing the tools from stores and reporting any defects in the materials to Manufacturing Engineer where appropriate. Operate the machine safely and competently in accordance with manufacturers operating instructions, and ensuring that good safety and house keeping standards are maintained as laid down client QHSE policies and procedures. After completing the operation, visually check the manufactured component. Carry out QC Inspection as per procedure. Ensure that an effective hand-over is carried out at the beginning / end of each shift, assuring that any specific product or safety related information is communicated. Ensure that work area is kept clean, and appropriate safety equipment is worn at all times, and appropriate lifting equipment is used / assistance is sought when handling heavy objects, thereby assure that good safety procedures are followed and good work practices are adopted. INDIVIDUAL QHSE RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment. Review, understand and comply with client's Health, Safety and Environmental Policy, Manual, Procedures or other related documentation. Apply any particular client HSE requirements to relevant activities and work areas. Uphold the responsibilities as detailed in the Quality Policy, Manual, Procedures or other related documentation. Communicate to Managers / Supervisors any perceived non-conformances or faults in the Quality Management System. QUALIFICATIONS Essential: Must possess a good level of general education of at least SCE Standard Grades, in Mathematics, and English Language. Preferred:Non pre-identified. EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE Essential: Must have completed a recognised Trade Apprenticeship, or similar level of competence determined by experience. Must have demonstrated an ability to effectively and safely utilise dedicated resources. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have demonstrated basic keyboard and / or computer skills. Preferred: Ideally should have extensive post-Apprenticeship experience in a workshop environment. PERSONAL QUALITIES Must be a team player, and take responsibility for own work environment and that of others. |
