THE ROLE Occupational Therapist
Immediate start

THE COMPANY

First People Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a leading local authority based in Scotland. Our client is looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist, with community or social services experience to join a close nit, vibrant, Children affected with Disabilities Team, on a temporary basis initially.

Based in the heart of the beautiful Scottish Borders, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary staff team to deliver quality services for Children with disabilities providing assessments, assitance with case loads and recommending adaptions for equipment in the home to aid children to thrive. In addition, you will provide assistance and support to social workers working with children and families.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

You must have a recognised Occupational Therapist qualification, the skills to work constructively with families and with partner services, and must be registered with the HPC.

This really is a superb opportunity to be part of an excellent team in a beautiful area of the country, with good amenities and a short drive to larger sities such as Edinburgh. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of the following;

o At least 6 months post qualifying experience
o Experience dealing with both young people and children affected with disabilities.
o Knowledge of Social Work/ Occupational Health Information Systems
o Liaising with external bodies such as the NHS and specialised preovisions for disabled children.
o Participate in meetings and inform and develop case plans to tackle issues

Although the above skills are preferable, they are not all essential, our client just requires an adaptable Occupational Therapist with the necessary experience, knowledge and ability to join the team and to adhere to sound professional practice standards
