THE COMPANY

The client is a global financial organization based in Glasgow City Centre, they have an unrivaled reputation for offering strong career and technical development for high caliber candidates.

EXPERIENCE

We wish to recruit a professional support specialist who can demonstrate 2+ major project assignments or are a recent graduate with skills in Unix and SQL. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their input to projects in relation to system reliability, availability and minimized down time. Your technical commercial experience will include an in-depth understanding of Unix (Solaris) and or Linux with solid scripting shell/korn/bsh, with solid commercial exposure to RDBMS with SQL skills (more the ability to read a troubleshoot SQL commands rather than writing triggers, stored procs etc). Additional skills include, some exposure to and understanding of OO code Java, C++, VB etc.

This opportunity will challenge candidates as the suit of applications have high levels of complexity, with a demanding customer base and minimal or in some cases zero down time allowed.
