Role & Requirements
Vehicle presentation roles involve carriage cleaning on First Scotrail Trains, so that our trains are ready for service. You will also use your observation skills to report train faults or vandalism. Working in a small team involved in the interior and exterior cleaning of coaching stock, including the thorough cleaning carpets, upholstery, windows and toilets whilst utilising the appropriate clothing and cleaning equipment. The nature of this work can be physically demanding and involves standing for long periods of time. All work carried out requires to be logged and there will also be some report writing involved in special incidents.
You should be able to receive understand and act on important safety instructions as well as work on own initiative. Able to communicate clearly with other members of the team. Focused on delivering the best in terms of cleaning standards. It is essential that you have previous heavy cleaning experience and health and hygiene experience, preferably from an industrial or transport environment. You should also have knowledge of COSHH regulations and health and safety at work procedures. You must be customer focused, enthusiastic and possess good communication and team-working skills. A flexible approach is also important as weekend working is involved.

Hours of Work
Average 35 hours per week. Constant nightshift. Working week is Sunday to Saturday. Hours of work vary dependant upon job location with book on between 2030-2200 hours & book off between 0530-0700 hours. Further information specific to job location will be given at interview.

For Motherwell post and Yoker post - you must be able to drive and have your own transport.

Reference Salary and Benefits

Trainee salary is £15,228 per annum. On completion of training the salary will increase to £15,819 per annum, with an additional shift allowance of 15%. Benefits include a contributory pension scheme, free and reduced rate rail travel and provision of protective clothing.

Training
All new entrants initially attend the 5 day company induction programme including first aid and fire safety training. Further in house training will be provided and will continue until you have a satisfactory final assessment by your team manager.
