EXPERIENCE
My client, a world renowned financial organisation, are currently recruiting for an Application Support Analyst to join their team in Glasgow. This position is within a fast moving, demanding environment, with a daily requirement for analysis, troubleshooting and day-to-day production support to maximize system availability and correct operation, diagnose issues, and resolve. Soft skills make up a substantial element of this role: Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, with relationship and rapport building skills paramount. As this is a growing area with particularly high profile projects in a very demanding and constantly changing environment, candidates will need to be self starters with lots of initiative and ambition. The ability to manage expectations is critical, as is a diplomatic but firm approach
Skills focus
Ideally candidates will be able to demonstrate 2 major projects including the following:
EssentialUnix - shell scripting
SQL stored procedures
Desirable Solaris & Linux
Sybase & NT
