Glasgow Head Office / Stockport Head Office
Reporting to:
Group Finance Director
Main Purpose of the Job:Implementing and Developing supplier relationships to maximise Group profitability and deliver Group Strategies.
Main Duties:
Negotiate best contracts for all areas of purchasing delivering agreed savings.
Develop and implement Group Purchasing Strategy
Implement best practice over all areas
Management of all staff currently undertaking these duties
Training and development of staff
Any other appropriate adhoc duties
Skills Knowledge and Experience:Qualified purchaser
Proven negotiator
Proven people management skills
Process driven - systematic approach
Experience of change/process improvement environment advantageous
Minimum Criteria:Good financial awareness
Strong negotiator
Team player
Comfortable working under pressure and to tight timescales
High levels of energy & motivation
Comfortable interacting and influencing across different business areas, supplier organizations and all levels of seniority.
Strong communication skills
Ability to think out of the box and address current process constraints
Judgement & Decisions:Securing best deals
Decide Priorities
Identify and define new process improvement opportunities
