| Senior Social Worker Referral & Assessment, Children and Families Social Work Location: South Scotland Salary: £28422 to £31035 per annum Benefits Package: Essential Car User, Relocation Allowance, Pension Reporting to: Team Manager Children and Families Social Work Our client in the South of Scotland is currently looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their children and families long-term team on a permanent basis with the children and families social work department. Based in a beautiful location, and with excellent amenities in a well established team with low turnover of staff, this presents as an excellent opportunity for an experienced main grade social worker looking to progress to more senior positions or an established social work practitioner looking to move their career on and make a contribution elsewhere. THE COMPANY First People Care Solutions are exclusively retained for social work services to this reputable Scottish Local Authority. EXPERIENCE Essential Experience 3 years post qualifying experience of Social Work in a local authority setting. Experience in Child Care and Child Protection. Experience of staff and/or student supervision. Experience of developmental work. Experience of Inter-agency working EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS (Essential) CQWS, DipSW, CSS or approved equivalent social work qualification recognised by CCETSW. For this post you must have current registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (or be willing to register) and must comply with their Code of Practice. SKILLS/ABILITIES (GENERAL) E.g. supervisory skills Interviewing skills. Assessment and analysis. Good communication, verbal and written. Ability to act on own initiative. Negotiation and problem solving skills. Leadership skills. IT skills. Access to personal transport. SKILLS/ABILITIES (specific to post) - Skilled in Child Care planning. Skilled at supporting staff who are working with children and adults who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioural problems. An understanding of the administrative process. Sound knowledge of Child Care legislation and procedures and significant experience of working within a child protection framework. Understanding of current social policy as it affects social work with children and families. Able to evidence experience of different models of work with families, particularly groupwork and early intervention with children and families. Able to evidence an interest in developmental work. Able to demonstrate an understanding of outcomes and their measurement. INTERPERSONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLSAbility to lead and motivate the team. Ability to work with staff from other professions and agencies.
