NEW JOB: PERMANENT WAY DESIGN ENGINEER
JOB LOCATION: GLASGOW
JOB SALARY: £30K - £38K + pension, healthcare, bonus, flexible benefits, city centre location.
One of the worlds leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies are looking to build a small permanent way team in there Glasgow office. The Rail group is responsible for Transport Business Group Rail projects with fees ranging from £0.1k to £ 30K. Types of project include: New Heavy Rail, Metro and Light Rail projects in all areas of the world. The Glasgow office is based in the city centre/east end of Glasgow and is within walking distance from a central line train station.
They undertake all stages of the project cycle - planning, production of parliamentary orders, feasibility, planning, design, construction supervision, start up, capacity enhancement, operational and maintenance advice, decommissioning and redevelopment.
The principal function of this position is to:
Carry out the production of CAD generated drawings for modelling Permanent Way horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections and Switches & Crossings layouts.
Carry out track geometry surveys and design cants, speeds, clearances, horizontal and vertical alignments as required.
Carry out studies and produce reports and drawings on Track System investigations, feasibility projects and any other track systems related projects for Permanent Way aspects of rail projects.
Support the Track Systems managers in the preparation of tender submissions and marketing initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Microstation or AutoCad experience.
MX Rail (or Inrail) CAD experience. (training can be provided)
