THE ROLE
My client requires an Application Support Manager to look after a newly established team of Support Analysts within a busy division of this large organisation. The applications supported by the team are large and varied and this role requires someone who can think on their feet.
Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
- Problem resolution, including communication with IT and senior business colleagues, and 3rd party vendors.
- Ensuring support models are in place prior to applications going live.
- Managing vendors relationships.
- Management of internal customer relationships.
- Incident Management
- Business Continuity Planning
- Budget management
- People management
- Installation of 'best practice' across support teams.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Proven commercial experience managing an applications support team of any size.
A good range of skills and experience from the list of duties listed above is essential.
Exposure to Compliance and Regulatory applications
Strong process engineering and documentation skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to think on your feet and be proactive as well as reactive
DESIRABLE:
ITIL qualified
Exposure to RDBMS/UNIX
Training experience
Financial Services exposure
