THE ROLE - Experienced Java Developer
Location: Glasgow
Type: Permanent
Reporting to: Line Manager

EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will perform a critical role with responsibility for the design, build/configuration, testing and deployment of client and technical adaptors leveraging proprietary adaptor framework technologies. Often working to client driven deadlines that require a rapid development and deployment lifecycle, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of technologies. Daily interaction with both the business and representatives from each client are a key part of this role

Essential:
Comprehensive background in JAVA
XML technologies including knowledge of Xquery and XPath.
SQL/Database experience preferably gained on Oracle.
FTP/SFTP knowledge.
Unix/Linux knowledge with strong experience of Shell and/or Perl scripting.

Desirable:

Object orientated analysis and design would be preferred
Maven 2
Additional languages preferably Java, J2EE and HTML.
Knowledge of encryption technologies preferably PGP.
Exposure to financial messaging protocols including IBML, FpML, FIX and SWIFT.
Experience of working in a RAD environment, using MS Excel, MS Access and Visual Basic
Practical understanding of Integration and Messaging (JMS and/or MQ Series) technologies
