SENIOR CAD TECHNICIAN/CAD MANAGER - £28000 - £35000 + Pension, Healthcare, Car, 25 days hols, city cetnre/west end location, short walk from underground.

My client is an international multi-discipline consultant providing engineering, environmental, planning and management services to a diverse range of clients in both the public and private sectors.

Due to rapid expansion, the Glasgow office is seeking a Senior CAD technician to work within the rail and heavy civils department. Applicants will be responsible for producing engineering drawings for a variety of schemes. In the rail sector schemes include bridges, tunnels, stations, embankments and cuttings and drainage.

In the heavy civils sector work includes roads, marine and water/ sewerage.
There may be a requirement for some site works - doing surveys or site supervision. Although this is not expected to comprise a large part of the role (5 % to 10%) it would be a major advantage if the candidate could do this. Site supervision may be at weekend or at night in the rail sector.

The role would include the management of Junior CAD Technicians to ensure consistent application of standards and to direct resources to meet demand.
Work tends to be to tight deadlines so ability to work under pressure is required.

The right applicant should be proficient in AutoCAD and have experience of RC detailing. The applicant should also be educated to at least HNC level (HNC Civil Engineering or equivalent).
