The Company

Our client is a highly successful provider of an extensive range of on or off site engineering services including design, manufacture, erection, and maintenance services for the oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, steel, water, power and general process industries.

The role

This new role will provide a cost effective technical procurement service to support a range of contracts across the company driving cost savings across the supply base and enhancing supplier value.

Key Role Responsibilities:-

• Ensure cost saving targets are achieved using a variety of strategic purchasing toolkit techniques
• Continually evaluate the supply base to beat budget costs on contracts, delivery and quality of suppliers
• Provide estimating service, working as an integral part of the bid team on capital projects
• Proactive liaison and negotiation with suppliers on cost and contractual terms
• Creation and management of KPI’s and SLA’s
• Ensure accuracy of contract purchase order costs
• Work with cross-functional teams in the supplier selection process
• Benchmark and improve supplier performance

The Person

Key Skills/Attributes:-

• Senior procurement experience with at least 5 years gained within a technical/capital equipment environment
• Ideally CIPS qualified
• Demonstrate a track record of cost savings
• The ability to plan complex, changing projects
• Team player with experience in a multi-site environment
• Strong negotiation ability and an assertive approach to problem resolution
• Has the ability to maintain and adhere to working procedures, practices and standards,
• Strong technical product knowledge and understanding

Location: Motherwell, Central Scotland

Salary/rate: £35000 - £40000/annum
