This job operates within the group engineering department and requires a technical excellence within current engineering standards, practices and procedures.
The Principal Engineer is required to be a technical authority within the analysis group and will provide technical advice and guidance to engineering staff within this area.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical authority and leader for the analysis group.
Be involved in new technology development projects as required.
Keep abreast of advances in technology or methodology and pass knowledge to analysis group.
Present technical papers to industry and represent the company at key industry events.
Assist in the mentoring, coaching and long term development of engineering personnel.
Deputise for the head of FEA as required.

Qualification/Experience
Advanced knowledge of finite element analysis

oFatigue
oFracture mechanic
oKinematics
Software exposure. Ideally ANSYS and ABAQUS.
Strong honours degree or masters qualification in relevant engineering discipline.
Chartered engineer preferred.
Ability to interface and present to other parts of the business, clients and vendors.
The jobholder is required to be an effective, proactive and technically competent analyst who will require minimum supervision.
Ability to work in an autonomous role.
