A SHE Advisor is required for our client basedat a power station in Central Scotland. The purpose of the job is to assist in managing and controlling all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment related to the project construction activities.
The successful candidate will have previous experience as a SHE advisor on major construction projects within the power / energy industry,working to CDM regulations and hold, as a minimum, a NEBOSH certificate.
The role will include
Monitoring of and advising on standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure:
A safe workplace without risk to health.
Safe plant and machinery,safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances.
Adequate provision of first-aid and welfare facilities and support.
Provision of suitable and current information and supervision concerning health and safety policies and practices.
Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments.
Provision of emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment and incident reporting to the relevant authorities.
Liaising as necessary with other organisations and relevant authorities withassistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
The workplace satisfies health, safety and welfare requirements for ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing and rest facilities.
Prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation and manual handling risks.
Surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices and systems.
Maintaining records of SHE statistics and issuing feedback on a regular basis to interested parties.
Investigation into and preparing of incident reports is also a key part of this role so excellent communication skills both written and oral area prerequisite.
